Livadi

A modern commercial center very close to the capital of Kythera. It is the largest village of the South, and in the last years it has even developed more that the capital itself. It is worth visiting Livadi’s trademark, the British bridge in Katouni,  as well as the Byzantine church of Agios Andreas which is one of the most significant on the island.

The settlements Katouni, Travasarianika, Goudianika, Strapodi, Mazarakianika and Fatsadika are considered as suburbs of Livadi. The current building works taking place in the area promise to make it a unique urban web with original ground planning.

During the last years, the Livadi street market has been revived. Farmers from the surrounding areas gather once a week on the central road to sell their produces It should be noted that the agricultural cooperation of the South, the official producer of the bottled "Aphrodite" olive oil has had its registered offices in Livadi for decades, which is the official producer of the bottled "Aphrodite" olive oil.
