Kalamos

This is the agricultural - touristic village of Kythera. Lodgings combine the essence of your stay with an acquaintance of agricultural life. Small hotel units with plots of land, gardens, fruit gardens and olive trees. Kalamos is situated to the south of the island, just two kilometers from Kapsali. In Kalamos, you will meet farmers driving their tractors on their way to work. Lush vineyards to the left and to the right.

From Kalamos you can visit the two most beautiful beaches of the island, Halkos and Firi Ammos. The small port of Vroulea is equally beautiful, offering opportunities for swimming and fishing. Close to the village, from the church of Agios Ioannis Theologos, you have a breathtaking view of the islands eastern coast. Discover other hidden beaches in the area with the help of the map.

In the village, hearty taverns offer a traditional cuisine and grill food. Sample delicious tastes with products from the land of Kalamos. For younger visitors, the parties organised sporadically on the farm near the village may well be of interest. Organized in great secrecy, announced only last-minute and lasting until sunrise, these parties mark the most desirable event of the summer. Parties are also organized from time to time on Halkos beach.
