Agia Pelagia

Agia Pelagia’s village started developing in the 1980’s. For many decades it was the island’s main harbor, before the construction and expansion of Diakofti harbor. Today it is a purely touristic village. Its immediate seaside location with many good hotels, restaurants and shops makes it a great location for the visitor. In Agia Pelagia, time is well spent visiting the beaches Lorentso, Lagada and Firi Ammos. Another spectacular destination is Agia Sofia cave (one of three with that name), with a size of 120 m2 that holds a vast array of stalagmites and stacalites, as well as Aphrodites cave which is located in the gorge of Galani. Another worthy sight is the stone watermill in the village center.

Agia Pelagia is a great tourist resort, with affordable prices but with aesthetic weaknesses and irregular construction. During the last years, it has been the number one tourist destination. Here you can enjoy delicious food directly by the sea. In case you have a boat, Agia Pelagia has a leeward harbor for safe mooring.
