The hotel Margarita is a big traditional mansion with white walls and
blue shutters built in 1840 by the family Stais. The building was
renovated in 1990 into a hotel, without having lost its classical style.
The Hotel Margarita enjoys an exceptional location, being in the heart
of Chora, the main village of the island, and set back from the main
road at the same time.
From both our terraces you can enjoy a magnificent view of the
countryside and the sea. Your breakfast will be served here and, during
the rest of the day, you can have a drink, a snack or a piece of cake
in this outdoor tea salon.
The twelve rooms are traditionally furnished. Most of them have a nice
view of the sea, the hills around, or the fortress. All rooms have a
bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin and are equipped with
air-conditioning, minifridge and telephone.
Since the beginning of 2002, the Hotel Margarita have been taken over
from Panayotis and Linda Fatseas by two young Frenchmen, François and
Frédéric. Whilst retaining the very particular atmosphere and charm of
the house, they have sought to add a few irresistible French touches.
For example, for breakfast, you can have home-made croissants and pains
au chocolat as delicious as those sold in the best Parisian
boulangeries. At any time of the day, you can enjoy a light snack of
fresh quiches and mouth-watering tarts, all made on the premises in the
hotel’s little kitchen. (This is also one of the few places in Greece
where you can get a real cup of P.G. Tips!).
François and Frédéric are always available with helpful advice to make
stay easy and pleasant and to make sure that you appreciate to the full
all charms of this wonderful island.
